Chrono Trigger - Ruined World (Eternal Derelict)

Steam Punk Dragon
A trend that seems to be on the rise is Steam Punk stuff.  This has to be the coolest Steam Punk figure around.  Only if dwarfs had an option to ride dragons this would be a no brainier.  This unit was also thought up and sculpted by Mr. Lux.

Weekend Spotlight: Mr. Lux
When I got together with Mr. Lux from Armorcast a while back he showed me a few models he was working on.  This was one of them.  This was so clever and creative I thought I would bring it to your attention.

” In which MetalJim tries to talk himself out of an expensive minis purchase…

Okay, folks, let’s get a couple of things out of the way at the start. The people who play Games Workshop miniature games are sort of a breed apart in the gaming world. To an extent, GW fanboys are despised by both the D&D fanboys and also the euro boardgame fanboys. The GW world is a different sort of geek hobby lifestyle. Is it a sport for spoiled rich kids? Or a misunderstood geek subculture?

Lately I’ve been a little bit obsessed with Warhammer 40K. Seems like something new to try out, even if it isn’t cheap. There are lots of reasons why this hobby is a bad fit for me (more on that below), but it’s definitely 40K that I’m jonesing for. I know I don’t want to play Warhammer Fantasy or any other wargame that involves painting minis. It’s 40K or nothing. “

I Have Returned

I had a great time in San Luis Obispo, CA over the weekend. We went camping on the beach. Good times. I recently read an article about 40k in 40 minits that I found interesting. here it is.

I think sometimes games can take to long so I thought this was a great concept. I am going to invite my Elder friend over for a battle. Here is my list, I know its over the point value but O well.

Librarean 150
10 Man Tactical Squad 170
Dreadnought 125

Hey guys.  I am leaving for the weekend for my friend’s bachelor party, so you won’t be seeing much in posts for the next 2 days.  I just wanted to leave you with some videos though.  VaulSC does some great videos over at youtube.  Check out his channel.  http://www.youtube.com/user/VaulSC

Chrono Trigger - Lavos Battle

Green Troll
I know my green troll is not a revolution in painting but I was going for simple. Painting the troll was simple and fun because i already knew exactly what I was going to do. I told my wife I would paint all the guys first before we play so she is holding me to it. I am working my way there. I would like to get some inks for the skin of the dwarfs before I move forward with them.

New Table
I got a new table to paint my models on. Now I wont have to be taking up kitchen table room. This table was placed in our living room right next to one of our big windows. I think it will play its part just right. Another great good will purchase $4.99 .

Warhammer Is An Art
More and more I am starting to view Warhammer as an art.   It is an excellent outlet for creative expression.  I have taken some of the models I have painted and hung them up around my house.   Is there a better way to do this?  Let me know what you guys think.

First Space Marine
This is my first go at starting to paint Space Marines. I am going to keep it simple with blue and black. I attempted some highlight at kind of random places we will see how this model shapes up.

This blog is a project I am conducting documenting my experience of learning how to play and paint Warhammer Fantasy with my wife. I hope to post how much I spend, what I buy, and my wife's reactions. We will unbox everything together. I hope this blog will provide insight into how this all works and also encourage others to make their loved ones a part of what they enjoy.
